Firstly, let me tell you that if you are self-aware, it means that you know yourself well. Self-awareness gives you the ability to understand your actions, that is, what you want to do, in a better way, and it enables you to correct your thoughts, ideas, and emotions.

The biggest advantage of self-awareness is that if someone mistreats you, being self-aware will enable you to deal with the situation in the best possible way. Self-awareness is an essential part of personal growth because when you reflect on yourself and try to change yourself, you are making an effort toward personal development, and this effort can bring about positive changes in your life.

There are two types of self-awareness, which are as follows:


1- Internal self-awareness 


Internal self-awareness involves understanding your emotions, feelings, beliefs, values, and any personal characteristics. People with high levels of internal self-awareness are capable of recognizing their emotional reactions in different life situations, along with their strengths and weaknesses. They are better able to estimate the impact of their behavior and communication style on others.


2- External self-awareness


This is the second type of self-awareness, which includes how people behave with you, that is, how you interact with them. Those who have this high level of external self-awareness can easily read the emotions, feelings, and reactions of others.

If you want to improve your self-awareness, it should include your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, which means the way you live your life. Here are five ways that I have written for you that can help you improve your self-awareness.


Try new experiences: Trying out new experiences and learning new things can help you learn more about your preferences. This means that you can gain a deeper understanding of your passions, skills, emotions, and feelings, which can improve your self-awareness.


Keep a journal: This means that you should write down your thoughts and ideas, and if there are any deficiencies, try to eliminate them. This will help you understand the purpose of your life and what you want to achieve. When you write down your thoughts and ideas, you will discover a goal for your life, and then you will strive day and night to achieve it. This will improve your self-awareness.


 Practice self-compassion: The meaning of this is that forgive yourself, be kind to yourself, and not criticize yourself. For example, when a person makes a big mistake, they sit and ponder in their mind, "what mistake did I make?" Instead of falling prey to depression, one should be kind to oneself and try to understand oneself. They should correct their mistake, forgive themselves and obtain self-awareness in this way.


Reflect on your Values: The meaning of this is that you should reflect on the fundamental values and beliefs of your life so that you can determine what is most important for you and what you should pay attention to. By reflecting on your power, you will find it easier to make life decisions that are aligned with your values. This can help you improve yourself in a seemingly visible way.
